Title:
National Libraries’ Workshop: “Exploring & Sharing Danube Collections”
Description:
The Austrian National Library secured funding from the Erland Kolding Nielsen Fund, an annual grant provided by CENL, for a collaborative project involving national libraries of the countries along the Danube River. Initially, plans were in place for the Austrian National Library in Vienna to host a workshop in March 2020, with a specific focus on collections related to the Danube. The goal was to create a shared virtual exhibition, which would be featured on the websites of participating national libraries and Europeana. However, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, there were some modifications to the project’s original concept. In response, the workshop transitioned to an online format, and the project’s emphasis shifted towards digital collections and the preparation of a collective virtual exhibition on Europeana, scheduled for release in March 2021.
